Floor-Flow / professional training

“Floor-Flow” is the name of the floorwork method that I’m developing since 2019

As dancers, our relationship with gravity is fundamental and our relationship to the ground is essential for any physical connectivity exploration. Connecting to the earth allows us to create an active relationship with our body weight. When working on the floor we receive direct palpable sensorial feedback that we can, later on, integrate and translate into our vertical practice.

My approach focuses on the spiralled nature of our anatomy to explore movement in the horizontal plane, to progressively and congruently transfer in different planes.

In a regular class, we work on diverse dynamics (energy, speed changes), bringing awareness to motoric initiations (clear pathways), differentiating forces (weight, momentum, strength, lightness),  rhythmical articulation (accents, phrasing), and spatial engagement (kinesphere and general space awareness).

Since 2019 On a regular basis, I teach at Marameo profi training, Dock 11 and since 2021 for the vocational school Danceworks Berlin.

I’m also a guest teacher at Leipzig profi training, Hannover profi training, National University of Arts of Buenos Aires (ARG), Porto Dance Conservatory (PT), Tanzzentrale Leipzig and Veronika Ritz Dance Company, among others

Since 2018 I give international workshops for different venues in Australia, Peru, and the Canary Islands.

My classes for professional dancers and advanced students begin with exercises that focus on preparing the body and mind for physical work. Warming up consists of diverse tasks to promote blood circulation, global mobilization and the strengthening of core muscles. As the class develops, we dive into more complex floor and standing phrases that include acrobatic elements. Both forms are connected, emphasizing a coherent transference from the horizontal to the vertical plane by allowing the body to access the floor from different spatial levels. The exercises I facilitate are designed to challenge our verticality, common frontal nature, and sense of direction.
